Six Months!

I am 6 months old today!

I went to the doctor today. I weigh 15 lbs 12 oz, which is just under the 25th percentile. My weight gain has slowed down over the past couple of months, but I think it is because I am so darn active, I burn up almost every calorie I get! For the last 2 weeks I've only had a poop every 3-4 days! Not much wastage of mommy's milk going on! I also got two needles. I was very brave and only cried a little bit, until Mommy could pick me up and cuddle me. Not like those other babies who we heard screaming from the waiting room!

Mommy says I am quite a handful now. I like to push myself up to stand when someone is holding me. Then I turn into a Mexican jumping bean. Jump, jump, jump. I want to make sure Mommy gets enough exercise. I also like to spin (I learned how from being in my exersaucer) when Mommy is holding me, I keep turning around in her arms.
It is also getting really hard to change my clothes and diaper. As soon as Mommy lays me down on the change table, I flip over, then pivot around to face the other way. sometimes I try to lean over the edge and look at what's on the ground or in the drawers. I keep trying to get into the wipes too. It's a challenge to get my clothes and diaper off and an even bigger challenge to get them back on again. I like to be naked because it's so much easier to move around!

I have been trying so hard to crawl too! I can get up on my hands and knees sometimes now and today I got up on hands & knees and rocked a few times. Mommy doesn't think it will be too long before I can do it!

I have also been trying to sit up by myself. I can balance for a few seconds if Mommy puts me into the sitting position, but sooner or later, I always topple over. yesterday, Mommy noticed that I was tucking one leg under when I rolled over, and just needed to bring the other forward and push up with my hands to sit up…tonight, while playing on the kitchen floor with Daddy I sat up up all by myself! Mommy missed it!

I haven't been vocalizing as much the last few weeks. Mommy thinks its because I'm so busy learning to sit & crawl. In the past week or so, though, I've discovered raspberries. Now I do them all the time. Last night I blew raspberries all the way home from Aunt Lydia & Uncle Garr's house!

Another exciting event tomorrow...I get to try a new food...rice cereal. I hope it tastes as good as all that food I see Mommy & Daddy eating! I've been trying to grab their food for weeks.

Despite my drooling and chewing everything in sight for the past three months, still no sign of teeth. Mommy says that's ok...no rush for her.

Well, that's all the news for now. Stay tuned for some new pictures in the next week or so, and an update on my first solid meal!
