14 months

It's been almost a month since I posted, so here's what I've been up to lately:

Still "Almost walking" Mommy & Daddy were sure I'd be an early walker, since I was crawling and cruising so early, but it is not to be. I am walking really well holding only one hand now, and I have taken a few steps on my own, and starting to do that more frequently now (today I took about 5-6 steps on my own) but still not walking. Hopefully soon.

I had my 14 month appt at the doctor today. I was supposed to get my Chicken pox vaccination, but I had come down with a slight cold and had a low grade fever, so couldn't get the shot. I finally weigh over 20 lbs though! I was 20 lbs, 4 oz.

I am starting to try to say some words and try to copy mom & dad's sounds and words. My closest thing to a word is when I say 'Gaw' (clock). I copied mommy saying 'night night' (nigh nigh) a couple of times, and saying 'meow'. I also call the cat using a kissing sound: Click here to watch 'Calling-kitty'

I have picked up a few more signs (it really helps that my babysitter, Carla is doing them with me and Benjamin). I can now do milk, more, eat/food, bird, and light, and I am also trying 'flower' but can't get the motion right yet. Here's a video of me doing bird and more: Click here to watch 'Signing-Bird--More' Mommy & Daddy have found it so helpful that I can do milk, more and food....since I started signing "more" I have stopped grunting/growling/screaming and pointing when I want more of something (usually food at meal times) and do my signs instead.
