Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year to all! Can't believe it is 2007 already - where has the year gone. In just over 2 months, Christian will be 2! He's growing and changing so fast! As of Dec 18th (21.5 months) he was 23 lbs, 11 oz and 33 inches tall, which puts him about the 25th percentile on the new WHO growth charts. So not a big guy by any means, but hey, I'm not complaining - I'm the one who has to lug him around!

We had a good Christmas. Christian is starting to get the whole Santa thing, and actually enjoyed ripping open presents this year, although after about 4 presents, he was done so we had an extended present opening period which lasted for about 4 days. Major changes on the child care front - As of this week, Christian is going to daycare. I managed to get him into the daycare in the building where I work (Still working for Mt. Sinai, but offices in the Ontario Hydro Building a few doors up the street) I've spent this week helping him transition. He's doing fairly well. There are 10 kids in his room, mostly his age and older, and they have a pet rabbit - a lop-eared bunny named Coco. It'll take him a while to settle in, but I think he'll benefit from the more structured learning and social aspects. Already, after spending last month in backup daycare, we've noticed that he is a bit more outgoing than usual.

He's doing a lot of talking now - in the past couple of weeks he's started speaking in sentences - 2 or 3 words, and really manages to communicate well. I've been trying to capture as much as possible on video and have some good clips of him talking. Two must sees are the barbecue and the living room videos - he can say most words quite clearly but there are a few that are totally hilarious - barbecue and living room are two of them.
