Christian turned three on March 6. Stats: 36.25 inches tall and 28.5lbs, which puts him around the 15th percentile using the WHO growth charts. So, he’s our little guy, but we think he’s been having a growth spurt in the past week or so, based on the quantity of food he’s been eating. So many changes in the past several months - he's definitely no longer a baby - he's a little boy now! He's talking in pretty sophisticated sentences, he tells us stories, and he's quite clever too. unfortunately, he often uses his cleverness in talking back to us and trying to get away with things he's not supposed to do! His latest when you start to tell him to do or not to do something is "I can't hear you"
He’s having his official birthday party on March 16th, but we had a little family celebration with just the 3 of us on Friday the 7th. He really "gets" birthdays now and was very excited about cake and presents. We got him a great play kitchen which he loves. pis of that to follow at a later date.
He seems to have developed an interest in spiderman, despite the fact that he’s never seen the program (which really shows you how much influence other kids have!) so you’ll notice a spiderman theme. Here’s a couple of videos of him blowing out his candles and singing…what else? The spiderman theme!
Happy Birthday

And a pic of him blowing out his candles:
We've been undergoing major renovations since the end of October (one of the reasons for the long blog absence) and in the past few weeks, Hugo has been doing some final work on the basement (flooring, woodwork, etc). Christian has taken to wearing ear protection any time there's sawing going on. Here's some pics of him hamming it up for the camera one morning
Big news on the home front....
Yup! Christian's going to be a big brother sometime near the end of July. Due date is actually August 3, but since I'll be having a repeat C-section, it's estimated to be around July 20. We're hoping this one doesn't make a surprise appearance like Christian did!
Christmas, too, was fun. unlike last year when he got distracted after opening a couple of presents, he wanted to tear into all of them one after the other this year. He was pretty excited about his gifts, and got lots of cars and trucks and an assortment of tools as well. His reactions while opening presents were pretty funny - at one point saying "What the heck is this?" which we got on video:
Here's another quick clip of him saying Merry Christmas: Merry Xmas
